Our company was remodeling an older apartment building and we replaced all the old receptacle outlets with tamper-resistant receptacles. The building was built in 1985 before tamper-resistant receptacles were required, but we installed tamper-resistant receptacles anyway.

If you've been in the trade a number of years, you've probably had a few close calls and near misses that were too close for comfort. I've been lucky and a lot more careful since my last close call. I was helping a guy trouble-shoot a problem with a 480-V, 3-phase industrial water heater. North Carolina Licensees

North Carolina has pushed back plans to adopt the 2011 National Electrical Code. No current date for adoption is available.
