How hot is an arc flash?

Temperatures can reach 35,000° F.
180° F causes 2nd degree burns.
210° F causes 3rd degree burns.

 

How bright is an arc flash?

Ultraviolet light released can temporarily or permanently blind a person.

 

How loud is an arc blast?

160 dB - louder than a jet taking off, even at 25 yards away.

 

How fast can arc blast shrapnel travel?

700 mph -faster than a Boeing 747.
