Ever wonder who it is that you're communicating with when you send the JADE Instructor an email? That expert is Dick Statham, a former instructor and department chairman in the Electrical and Electronic department at Guilford Technical Community College in Greensboro, NC. He is also a contributor to JADE Learning's 2005 and 2008 NEC Changes courses.
In the summer of 2006 Dick Statham and his wife, Wardene, drove their Air Stream travel trailer from North Carolina to Alaska. They spent 2 1/2 months in Alaska camping, canoeing, exploring glaciers and meeting many new friends. The two photos below are from that trip.

Many Glacier Lodge is on Swiftcurrent Lake. It's the largest hotel in Glacier National Park and is a great place for hiking and fishing. We saw mountain goats and moose near the lodge. It was built in the early 20th century and has about 200 very pricey rooms. Glad we took our room with us - we stayed in the Airstream. - Dick Statham

This is from much, much higher, & much further north and west. We flew out of Talkeetna, AK which is a great place; we planned to visit for a day and stayed a week. You can see the tip of the right wing as we are flying across Ruth Glacier on Mount McKinley (or Denali) in Alaska. Mt. McKinley is the highest mountain in North America. The gorge we are flying thru is about 3 miles wide; we were at about 18,000 feet. The ice in Ruth Glacier is supposed to be approximately 3,700 feet thick. It is one of the largest glaciers on Mt. McKinley. - Dick Statham
