Attention: Since July 1, 2008 the NC Board has required that half of the required continuing education hours come from an instructor-led class. If you need 8 hours to renew your license, 4 hours can be taken online. The other 4 hours must be classroom hours. You can take more than one of the 4-hour courses listed below, and apply the extra hours to future years, but every year 4 hours must be classroom hours.
We are teaching classroom courses again! One half of your continuing education credits each year must come from a classroom course. Attend a JADE Learning local instructor-led course and get 4 or 8 hours credit to renew your electrical license.

In order to renew your license, the North Carolina State Board of Examiners of Electrical Contractors requires that you complete 8 hours of continuing education for U, I and L license types. Up to 24 hours can be taken during one renewal cycle and used for later renewals. The renewal deadline in North Carolina is the anniversary of the license issue date, every year.
When you complete an online or in-person class we will mail you a certificate of completion and report your CE hours to the North Carolina State Board of Examiners of Electrical Contractors. We notify the North Carolina State Board of Examiners of Electrical Contractors of your hours every business day electronically.
For a fee of $25 per course, NC approved classes can be reciprocated to other states with similar requirements.
