Attention: If you have an electrical license, the Kentucky Division of Building Codes Enforcement requires that you complete 6 hours of continuing education each year. Of those 6 hours, only 2 can be on safety (Safety). For master electricians and electricians, all 6 hours can be related to the NEC (Code). For electrical contractors, 4 of the hours must be related to business law and practices (Business).
For master electricians and electricians we recommend the 6 hour course, The 2008 National Electrical Code Changes.
For electrical contractors we recommend How to Manage an Electrical Service Contracting Business and either OSHA Safety Rules, Lockout/Tagout or Electrical Safety Now. Do not take more than one safety course.
In order to renew your license, the Kentucky Department of Housing, Buildings, and Construction requires that you complete 6 hours of continuing education. The renewal deadline in Kentucky is the last day of the licensee's birth month.
When you finish the course we will mail you a certificate of completion and report your CE hours to the Kentucky Department of Housing, Buildings, and Construction. We notify the Kentucky Department of Housing, Buildings, and Construction of your hours every business day via email.
For a fee of $25 per course, KY approved classes can be reciprocated to other states with similar requirements.
